Eligibility criteria

You may be eligible for the Experienced Professional program if you:

  • Arrived in Australia within the last 4 years

  • Hold a Humanitarian Visa (e.g. Subclass 200, 201, 202, 203 or 204) or be seeking asylum/protection in Australia with valid work rights.

  • Hold qualifications, skills and professional experience relevant to their chosen career pathway.

  • Be seeking to continue or establish a professional career in Australia aligned to their qualifications, experience and transferable skills.

  • Have not worked in ongoing professional employment in Australia aligned to their qualifications and career aspirations > 6 months

  • Have English proficiency and digital skills suitable for a professional workplace

CareerSeekers assesses each application individually and eligibility is determined based on program suitability, participant readiness, labour market opportunities and available placement pathways.

Please note, we are currently unable to offer placements in the following professions:

• Translation

• Teaching

• Pharmacy

• Medical Doctor / Dentistry

• Allied Health (e.g. nursing, counselling, aged care, disability support)

• Lawyer

• Graphic Design

If you are pursuing opportunities exclusively within these fields, this program may not be the best fit at this time.

  • Openness to related industries or roles

Program commitment

There is no cost to participants.

Experienced Professionals are expected to:

  • Fully engage in the 12-week placement activities

  • Commit to placement responsibilities

  • Participate in preparation and development sessions
