ARTICLE 23 PARTNERS

Strengthening workforce capability through long-term partnership

Article 23 Partners represent CareerSeekers’ highest level of employer commitment.

The story behind Article 23

On 10 December 2018, marking 70 years since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, CareerSeekers and 21 organisations united to make a bold and measurable commitment to embed long-term access to professional employment for people with refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds into workforce strategy.

These founding partnerships create structured pathways to local experience and professional employment. They are grounded not in charity, but in accountability with defined commitments and measurable outcomes designed to drive meaningful social and economic contribution across Australian industries.

The partnership takes its name from Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which affirms:

• The right to work

• The right to free choice of employment

• The right to just and favourable conditions of work

• The right to equal pay for equal work

• The right to remuneration ensuring human dignity

Meaningful work is fundamental to dignity, participation, and contribution.
