Khalid is originally from Libya where he studied a Bachelor of Geology and worked in water testing for a hydrology company, before coming to Australia to study his Master of Science (Geoscience).

During Khalid’s studies the security situation in Libya deteriorated and he applied for Australia’s protection. Unable to secure a role in his field in Australia due to a lack of local experience, he worked as a security guard until he joined CareerSeekers.

Khalid interned with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, initially in the soils unit at the Elizabeth Macarthur Agricultural Institute at Menangle. Khalid’s internship was extended to allow him to work on different projects and he interned for a further six months in strategy and policy.

At the conclusion of his internship, Khalid secured a role with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, in the Compliance and Investigations team.

After attending his first AFL game with CareerSeekers, Khalid is also a committed Greater Western Sydney Giants fan.
